Acanthosis Nigricans

Acanthosis Nigricans is the condition, where the cells of the body fail to respond to insulin effectively, or they become resistant to the effects of insulin.
           
Below here are some more information on the causes, as well as the signs and symptoms of Acanthosis resistance. Diet, especially a high carbohydrate diet may also be associated with insulin resistance. 

Some other possible causes of insulin resistance are, obesity, excessive stress, infection and severe illness, use of certain medications including, steroids and metabolic syndrome.

Diagnosis of Acanthosis resistance can require complete evaluation of the medical history of the person, physical examination, testing of glucose level, fasting insulin level, oral glucose tolerance test.
